Today’s article discussed how more people are choosing to live in the suburbs rather than in the city. When you become an adult, which lifestyle do you think you would prefer—city life or suburban life? Choose one and explain your reasons clearly.

I think I will live a more city life for most of my young years, and then when I get married and have kids, move a little bit further out into a more suburban area. Today we did another common lit assignment about how more people are living in the city than the suburbs and how that is effecting the environment. I am glad that it is Friday and am ready for the weekend.

Based on the two informational passages that you've read thus far this week, write about how you will personally strive to avoid student loan debt?

Based on some of the passages I have read this week, I will strive to avoid student loan debt by trying to get as many scholarships as I can and pay the rest out of pocket. Today we did a common lit assignment. I am feeling pretty good about this week and I think I did pretty good on my SAT.

Choose a vocabulary word that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

A word that resonates with me is nirvana. I like this word because I am a very calm and happy person in general and have a philosophy of always seeing the good in any situation. Today we did a vocabulary assignment. I am ready for this week and ready to take the SAT soon.

Tariffs are often designed to encourage people to buy American-made products. When you shop, do you check where products come from? Would you be willing to pay more for something made in the U.S.? Why or why not?

No, I don't often check where products came from but my mom does because she wants to support Americans businesses. Today we did a Newsela about trumps tariffs. I am feeling good about this week because it is Friday and I am excited for this weekend.

Write about a time when your failure was necessary for your growth. Examples of failures could be failing a major exam, failure to make a team, failure in a relationship, etc.

A time that I failed was when I didn't pass a test that I really wanted to pass in chemistry. I thought I was going to fail but it made me realize that I need to restructure how I was doing in that class. I started paying more attention in class and studying at home. I ended up doing fine at the end of the year. Today we just took a common assessment benchmark. I am glad that the week is half over already and ready for the weekend.

We discussed achieving your dream. Think of someone who has already achieved a similar dream. What lessons can you learn from their journey?

My mom is already a business owner and I have learned by watcher her that it takes a lot of work and you have to always be redrawing plans and focusing on what matters because no one is going to redirect you. Today we worked on finding a bunch of quotes and how to apply them to our lives. I enjoyed today and am ready for the rest of the week.

Choose a word from Vocabulary Lesson 12. In at least one paragraph, define the word in your own words and explain where you encountered it. Describe how understanding this word helps improve your communication or writing skills.

The word I choose is malleable. Malleable means to be able to be molded or moved/changed. I encountered this word first in science class when we first started talking about metals and which ones were malleable or not. This word makes me a better writer because it increases my vocabulary and allows me to express myself more accurately. Today we did another vocabulary sheet. We learned a bunch of new words and used them in sentences. I feel good about this week and am ready for the rest of it.

Which time do you perfer the most and why, Daylight Savings Time or Standard Time?

I prefer standard time beacuse its easier to keep track of and the time never has to change. We can just change the time that we wake up and go to sleep. Today was a virtual day so we did a Newsela about day light savings. I am enjoying my Friday off and am excited for this weekend as well.

Who is the best cook in your family? Describe a meal that person has cooked for you.

The best cook in my family is probably my dad. I always like trying to cook new things and spend a lot of time cooking. A meal that my dad has cooked for me is, steak and shrimp. Today we did an assignment on another Langston Hughes poem. I am happy for the 3 day weekend and will be refreshed when I come back to school.

What is the most disgusting food you have ever had? Tell what it is, what was the occaison, and why it was not so good.

The worst food I have ever had is probably clam/oysters. I didn't like the texture or the flavor. I tried it one time at a restaurant with my family and they ordered a bunch for the whole table and I tried one. In class today we worked/finished the cultural mask project. I am feeling good about this week and ready for the extended weekend.

As we think about Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

My favorite word right now is Low-key. I feel myself using this often because I can use it in most scenarios. The way this word is used is for opinions or ideas that are underrated or not popular. We worked on a vocabulary work sheet today and I am feeling good about this week because we have Friday off.

How important is it for you to retain your cultural foods as you move forward in life? Explain the importance and which foods you cannot live without.

I don't think it is that important for me to retain my cultural foods but for some people, it may be. None of my cultural foods are of that much importance to me but there are some foods that I really like and it would be difficult to live without like steak. Today we made a food poster about our own personal cultural foods. I am glad that it is Friday and am ready for the weekend.

What is the most important aspect of your identiy? Tell what it is and why.

An important aspect of my identity is my family's culture. My mom's family is Italian and they have many cultures about food because food is very important in Italy. Today I was absent but we made a cultural mask showing all of the different aspects of our culture. I am feeling good about this week but ready for the weekend already.

How would you feel if your privacy was invaded online or on your phone? Do you think privacy is a basic civil liberty?

I would not be able to trust people anymore. I think that privacy is a basic civil liberty and it is a law in many places and should apply to the Internet as well. I was absent from class today but it looks like we reviewed a poem. I am looking forward to this weekend and I'm trying to stay on top of all my work until then.

Describe what you did over the winter break

I went to Florida impecunious but my grandparents gave me money to buy things at the beach. After I got back from Florida, it was imminent that I was going to hang out with my friends. I importuned my parents if I could spend the night with my friends and they allowed me to. They didn't want to at first because they said my friends impair my judgment, but I got past that impediment. Today we made a comic strip using vocabulary words. I am feeling good about this week and am looking forward to our next break which is spring break.
