Orgin Myth Test
Today we took a test on origin myths which is what we have been learning for the last couple of weeks. I did well and showed that I understand all of the concepts that go into an origin myth and why they are created. I enjoyed today's as we only had to take a test and had the rest of the class off. Today is going good and my week went by pretty fast, so I am excited for the week to be over.
presentation on "The Jealous Father"
Today we read a story from native american culture called "The Jealous Father", about a family who had inter-relationship problems and the father ended up trying to abandon the son. We then, as a group made a presentation on it and analyzed the characters. I learned how to analyze characters in a story and make a presentation on them. I feel today's class was good as it was interactive and a group creative assignment. I am feeling good today as the week us half way over.
Newsela on Iroqouis origin story
Today we had a sub so we just did a Newsela on "The Great Turtle" : Iroquois Origin Story. I learned about the origin story that this native american tribe used to describe the world around them and explain the creation of the earth. I enjoyed today's class as it was pretty laid back. My day overall is going okay so far, but I am already looking forward to the end of week three.

Today we worked on our JamBoard for our origin myth. I learned how to make a digital poster and fill it with different pieces that all work together. I liked today's assignment because it was creative and I am a creative person. My day is going well and I am ready for another week of school.
8/16/24 Blog
Today, as a class, we set up our blogs where we will be doing our blogs for this entire school year. My goals this year are, to get all A's, get better at lacrosse, and become more fluent in Spanish. I will get all A's by staying on top of my classwork and making sure I study when I should be. I plan to get better a lacrosse by going to practice when they have them and practicing on my own as well. I also plan to become more fluent in Spanish by using Duolingo and other language apps, as well as learning in the dual enrollment Spanish class I am taking for school.
